PRS Perspective
Pusen DISS® Series single-use ureteroscopes — PUSEN DISS® 6.3, PUSEN DISS® 7.5, and PUSEN DISS® 9.2 — are suction-integrated ureteroscopes used for ureteroscopy and stone treatment. Documentation is the hinge: the surgeon’s operative note should name the exact PUSEN DISS® scope used, not merely state that “suction was used.” This language belongs in the operative note only; it does not need to be added to Box 19 of the CMS-1500 or FL 80 of the UB-04.
Key Coding Takeaway
Physicians report the applicable CPT® ureteroscopy/lithotripsy code based on the professional service performed. Facilities may report C9761 for qualifying HOPD or ASC cases when the procedure and documentation support the full descriptor. For Medicare HOPD claims, C1747 may be reported with the device cost for tracking purposes; Medicare payment for C1747 is expected to be $0. Do not report C1747 on Medicare ASC claims. Commercial payer rules may differ.
